Coach Brian Dahlstrom, the head coach of the women’s tennis teams, looks forward to more focus on the spring season. “I would say for us this is the first time here at Monmouth College that there's going to be a lot more focused spring addition to our season; we did it a little bit last year, and they had never done it before, and so for us to not just strictly have a like eight-week fall season is, you know, our commitment as a team, as a college, then to be able to, you know, try again once again, just have our players have a chance to hit more balls and get better.”
Coach Dahlstrom believes that the more matches players have against other schools the more it will benefit them because it’s a good experience outside of practice.
Both the women and the men tennis teams have a scheduled match on March 29th against Webster University at home at 3 p.m. “That's going to be an additional opportunity, and honestly, if I can mix in or find some like Sundays or something like that, where I could find some other teams that would be interested in playing.” said Coach Dahlstrom, who is seeking out other schools to go up against.
The women’s team finished their fall season with a 5-7 record, 2-4 in conference.
