The visiting Lawrence Vikings secured a decisive 3-0 victory over the Monmouth Scots at this past Saturday’s home game. With the win, Lawrence improved its conference record to 3-1-1 and its overall record to 5-4-5.
The Vikings struck early, with Izzy Robertson scoring in the 13th minute and Kate Noonan adding another goal at the 35:59 mark to give Lawrence a 2–0 advantage heading into halftime. In the second half, Lauren Elders extended the lead with a goal in the 55th minute, sealing the 3–0 result. Monmouth goalkeeper, Izzy Seipold, had a standout performance, recording six saves to preserve the shutout.
Following the match, Monmouth’s Mariah Hobson, forward, reflected on the team’s performance and preparation for their upcoming game.
“We started a bit too slow but felt like we picked it up in the second half, and I was really proud of how we ended the game,” Hobson said.

Addressing the upcoming home match-up against Illinois College on Tuesday, Oct. 14, Hobson added, “That team plays pretty similar to Lawrence, so I think by coming out faster and more physical, we will get the result we want.”
The Monmouth Scots will host Illinois College at Peacock Field on Tuesday, Oct. 14, before traveling to Ripon for a women’s and men’s doubleheader on Oct. 18. The Scots will then hit the road again on Oct. 25 to face Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, in what promises to be a thrilling match-up. Kickoff for both is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
