On Wed. Monmouth women’s lacrosse dropped their tilt with Augustana College 18-8. Kara-Jade Gordon led the way with three goals as the Vikings pulled away in the second-half.
The Vikings jumped out to a quick lead scoring five goals in the match’s opening ten-minutes. Aspen Chadderdon picked up the Scots first goal at the 19:48 mark to stop the bleeding.
After a pair of Augustana goals, Kara- Jade Gordon scored off an assist from Angham Jaradat. Two-minutes later Amanda Green scored to pull Monmouth back within four.
Four was the closest the Scots would get as the Vikings scored three times in the closing minutes of the first-half to take a 10-4 lead to halftime.
Augustana continued the rapid scoring besting Monmouth 8-4 in the second-half on their way to the double-digit win.
Gordon hit the 40-goal mark for the season with her three-goal performance. The Scots moved to 4-4 on the season with the loss.
Up next, Monmouth travels to Aurora University on Sat. for a noon contest.
