On Nov. 8, the Monmouth College Women’s basketball team hosted Augustana for their season opener. The Fighting Scots had a slow start in the first minutes, putting up some points on the board to end the first quarter. The Augustana Vikings took off in the second quarter, leaving the score 58-14 at halftime. In the second half, the Vikings still outplayed the Scots, leaving them with a 94-47 win.
Senior Averi Rangel said some goals from the season are, “To create cohesion across our team and play together as much as possible. Ball movement is very important to us, and if we achieve that, it makes it easy to celebrate each other’s success… and try to make it as far in the postseason and just enjoy my last season playing basketball.”
The Fighting Scots have their next home game on Nov. 22 against Coe College.
