The Monmouth College men’s water polo team suffered three close defeats at the Washington and Jefferson Round Robin. The first match against the host team saw the Scots fall 16-11 in a competitive matchup. Freshman Joseph Addison proved to be lethal, however, scoring four goals in the game.
The next game against the Salem University Tigers was also very close, as the Scots lost by a score of 18-12. Despite four goals from Jared Hankinson and a nine goal comeback in the fourth period, the Salem Tigers emerged victorious.
The final game of the tournament saw the Scots face Connecticut College. Monmouth jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Addison and Hankinson, but the Camels would eventually rally to tie the game at seven heading into halftime. Connecticut College would pull away in the second half and win by a score of 19-14.
Up next is the Monmouth College Round Robin at Pepper Natatorium on October 12-13. There, the Scots will take on Mercyhurst University, McKendree University, and Gannon University.
