Another Monmouth College volleyball season ended in Mount Vernon against the #2 seed Lawrence University Vikings on Friday evening, as the Scots continue to work on making each season better than the last.
The Vikings took all three sets in the conference semifinal matchup, winning the first set 25-12 and the second 25-18. The Scots clawed back to force extra points in set three, but the Vikings were able to slip away by a score of 28-26 to complete the straight-set sweep. Lawrence won the kills battle 52-24, in addition to the assist (52-22) and ace (3-1) battles. The Scots out blocked the Vikings 6-4 and committed four fewer errors.

Leading the Scots in kills in the evening was sophomore Kaylee Celus with 10 kills, followed by senior Brynn Hogan with five, and senior Alana Robertson and sophomore Melina Teunis with four and two kills, respectively. Robertson led the team in assists with nine, followed closely by senior Bailey Hill with eight, and junior Zoe Nizzia with three. Senior Leah Allan led the team in digs with eight, followed by Celus with seven, and Robertson and Nizzia each with six.
In the conference tournament final Saturday afternoon, the Cornell Rams defeated Lawrence by a score of 3-1. As a result of the win, the Rams qualify for the NCAA Division III volleyball tournament.
Monmouth ends the 2025 campaign with a record of 12-14 overall with a 6-2 record in MWC play, resulting in a third-place finish for the Scots in the conference. The Scots also bid farewell to six seniors: Leah Allan, Alana Robertson, Shea Scott, CeCe Palladino, Bailey Hill, and Brynn Hogan.
