The Fighting Scots men’s soccer team ended their 2026 campaign by suffering a 4-0 defeat to MWC debutants Luther College on Halloween. The Norse, who were ranked third in Region IX, had already clinched the Midwest Conference regular season championship going into this game.
The Norse struck in the 16th, 34th, and 41st minutes to lead 3-0 after the first 45 minutes and shut the door on the Scots with a goal in the 89th minute. Luther’s Vinny D’Amico recorded a brace on the afternoon, scoring the 41st and 89th minute goals.
Statistics wise, the Norse outshot the Scots 35-6 and 18-2 on goal. Senior Monmouth goalkeeper Luis Villa had a very busy day between the pipes, recording 14 saves throughout the 90 minutes.
The Scots end the season with a record of zero wins and 18 losses, and bid farewell to three seniors: Luis Villa, Owen Murray, and Isaac Price. All three have been with team since their freshman year.
