The Monmouth College Men’s and Women’s track teams performed well at last week’s St. Ambrose Invitational.
In the sprints, Stone Darrow raced to a 22.55 in the 200m, placing third overall. In the distance events, Griff Morrill, Riley Dulin, and Tanner Heiple all finished with season best times in the mile, running 4:31, 4:32, and 4:34 respectively. In the field, Joe Krall threw the 8th best weight throw in the nation, recording a distance of 58’8” and placing 2nd. In the jumps, Austin Pfau, Chandler Claude and Clay Shulenberg finished 4th, 6th, and 7th respectively in the triple jump.
For the women, Vanessa Caldwell placed 6th in the hurdles with a time of 9.61. Reaching the finals in the 60 meter dash, Cindy Ladner and Kenzie Baker finished 5th and 8th respectively, with both running a personal best. Jordan Peckham added to the success with a time of 1:01.34 in the 400m dash, placing 6th. In the mile, Arika Hofmann and Ezzie Baltierra-Chavez finished 6th and 7th overall. In the throws, Hannah McVey recorded a 2nd place finish in the weight throw, with a distance of 48’10-3/4.” The trio of Kareema Lawal, Leigha Sebben, and Megan Gilstrap also added to the scoring, finishing 2-4 in the shot put.
Next for the Scots is the Whitewater Invitational in Whitewater, Wisconsin this Friday and Saturday. The men will compete tonight, while the women will compete tomorrow afternoon.
