The Scots lost to the Lake Forest Forresters with a score of 0-9 the whole match.
Doubles match results were as follows: Kathi Ramsenthaler (Linz, Austria) and Ivana Stefanova (Streamwood, IL) lost 3-8, then Natalie Labicki (Antioch, IL) and Jennifer Shimmin (Monmouth, IL) lost 2-8, and Julia Mheidze (Springfield, IL) and Kimber Calvert (Paris, IL) lost 0-8.
“The team fought hard today against Lake Forest, especially in these colder playing conditions,” said Freshman Kimber Calvert. “We pushed through and played good tennis for ourselves and friends and family who came out to cheer us on for our last match before conference.”
In singles, Stefanova lost 1-6 but won 6-2 in the second set, which led to a tiebreaker and a loss of 6-10. In the second singles, Ramsenthaler lost 4-6 and 1-6. In the third singles, Labicki lost the first set 1-6. In the fourth singles, Calvert lost 3-6 and 0-6. Fifth singles, Shimmin lost 0-6 and 2-6. And in the sixth singles, Mheidze lost 0-6 and 0-6.
“We had our ups and downs throughout the season,” said Head Coach Brian Dahlstrom. “But I'm proud of how much the players have improved from the beginning of the season to now. But we have our conference tournament coming up, which will be a good experience for our mix of veterans and players who have and have never been to a college conference before.”
