Hi, my name is Riley Dulin and I’m the Sports Editor here at the Courier. When you’re not reading my hot takes typically found on page 15, you can find me running the streets of Monmouth or studying at my home away from home: the library. As my 20th birthday is coming up this April, here are 20 facts about me:
I am an accounting major here at Monmouth College.
I am on the cross country and track teams.
I have run competitively since I was in the 5th grade.
I’ve run the entire perimeter of Monmouth twice in a row for long run before, and it honestly was not as bad as I thought it would be.
I am a middle child.
I grew up in Monmouth, so I basically had the college in my backyard.
I have two dogs at home: a Maltese and an adopted Shih Tzu.
I work at Italian Village right here in town.
I took dual credit classes here before enrolling as a freshman.
I’m a huge fan of the Chicago Bears, Bulls, and White Sox.
I am a legacy student here at Monmouth.
One of my favorite sports memories was my first Bulls game during Derrick Rose’s MVP 2011 season.
I went to the NCAA tournament opening round last year, when 15 seeded Bradley nearly upset Michigan State.
Pizza is by far my favorite food.
Having eaten Monmouth pizza for 19 years, I can conclude that Italian Village is the best hands down (not being biased at all).
I prefer life in a small town to the big city any day.
Last year, I won a $128 bet on a pool game in the Winbigler lounge, but the loser has still not paid up to this day.
My Nintendo GameCube from 2003 that still works might be my most prized possession.
I’m a huge fan of Star Wars (the prequels are better than the new ones).
My faith is an integral part of what I value in life.
