Spooky season has arrived

Four days into October and we can officially say, “It’s SpOoKy SeAsOn.” No matter who you are or what you like, you know good and well you are a big fan of this time of year…don’t even lie. There is just so much to do and lots of things to check off your list, you’re bound to have a busy month.

First things first: the weather. Trust me, I know it’s been crazy humid and oddly warm for the beginning of October, but in the upcoming weeks the temperature is going to drop and we will be walking around in a cool 60-degree environment.

Next thing: the festive flavored foods and drinks. On the spectrum of pumpkin spice and apple cider, I am all the way on the far end of the cinnamon-y sweetness with everything apple cider. I mean come on, cinnamon and sugar donuts? Those right there deserve a hallelujah!

However, if you are on the opposite end and prefer pumpkin spice, there are plenty of options for you, Einstein’s has pumpkin galore alongside McDonalds.

Carmel apples, candy corn, pumpkin seeds, s’mores, and there are lots more for your fall food options that you can pick from and be satisfied with.

Running a close third: pumpkin patches and orchards. A close twenty-minute drive from campus is Camps Orchard. They sell lots of different things from their in-house bakery with lots of daily specials, including the beloved apple cider donuts, jams and jellies, and novelty items. Tanner’s Orchard is a little more of a drive, but well worth the trip. At Tanner’s you pumpkin lovers will get more of the aesthetically pleasing photos that you’ve always wanted for your Insta feed.

Last but most definitely not least: the movies. Now yes, I am a little biased because I do know all the words to the greatest spooky movie of all time, Hocus Pocus; however, there are plenty others to watch. IT, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Halloween Series, Beetlejuice, Halloweentown, I could really go on for hours. So grab some friends, reserve the theatre in Peterson, and get yo’ spooky on.
