This weekend the Scots dropped two games to Cornell College in a long double header that included a 10 innings second game. During the second game the Scots came out hot, in the top of the second with the bases loaded, Center Fielder Calista Warmowski hit a bomb out to left field to send both Sarah LaHood and Madelyn Belleville home. Not long after in the top of the 3rd Addison Riley cashed in on a poor throw from the Cornell College catcher. Despite the early lead the Rams would go on to score 6 straight before the scots would hit another two run RBI from Jessica Pauley to send the game into extra innings. After three long innings the Rams finally scored off of a wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th to end the game and win again 7-6.
Center fielder Calista Warmowski said there are a few thins they do to prepare for a double header. “We were able to take twenty minutes’ in-between games, to refocus and re-energize, get a snack and prepare for that second game.”
The Scots have an away game at Illinois College this Thursday (4/22) followed by another double header at home this Saturday (4/24) versus Knox College.
