Winter is coming, which means four months of endless cold, snow, and sometimes sickness. Nothing feels better on a cold winter day than a bowl of chicken noodle soup. Whether you're sick of making microwave ramen and want to try something new or just love to cook, give this simple recipe a try.
Things you'll need:
Access to a kitchen (each residence hall has at least one communal kitchen)
A large pot
Something to mix with
Something to measure with
Ingredients:
1tbs of olive oil
3 carrots
3 celery stalks
1 yellow onion
1tbs of garlic
Salt
Pepper
Rosemary (optional)
Thyme (optional)
2 cartons of chicken stock
ΒΌ cup of lemon juice (optional)
3 shredded chicken breasts
Small noodle of your choice
Directions:
Chop the carrots, celery, and onions and add to a pot with olive oil. Fry until the onions are translucent. Add garlic and seasonings to taste.
Add chicken stock. If you like your chicken noodle soup to have a lemon flavor, add lemon juice. Bring it to a boil.
Once boiling, add chicken and noodles and cook until the noodles are soft. Let it simmer for 10 minutes and serve.
