The women’s soccer team ended their season with a 5-0 loss to MWC champion Lake Forest on Saturday, but not without an impressive performance by Izzy Seipold between the pipes, registering 18 saves through 90 minutes.
The Foresters dominated every single aspect of the game. They outshot the Scots 45-3 and 23-2 on goal and won the corner kicks battle 13-2. This result, alongside a Grinnell victory over Knox, eliminated the women’s soccer team from conference tournament contention.
Monmouth ends the season with a record of 7-6-3 overall and 3-3-2 in conference play. The Scots finish in 5th place in the conference behind Grinnell and above Ripon (6th), Beloit (7th), Knox (8th), and Cornell (9th), and say goodbye to five seniors: Madilyn Myers, Avery Parks, Grasyn Schmidt, Brooke Gruby, and Natalya Main.
The Midwest Conference women’s soccer tournament will be held next week, with semifinals on Friday, Nov. 7, and the final on Nov. 8, hosted by Lake Forest College at Mohr Field.
