Kappa Kappa Gamma hosted their second annual Kappa Kickball event to raise money for Western Illinois Animal Rescue (WIAR). WIAR is Kappa Kappa Gamma’s local philanthropy. “I thought the event went really well, and everyone had a lot of fun; it's always good to raise money for the animals of WIAR,” said Kappa Kappa Gamma Philanthropy Director Lauren Covington. “This year, we had a much better turnout than last year; we were able to have a more competitive bracket with six teams.”
Kappa Kappa Gamma asked teams of up to 10 students to come to Bobby Woll Memorial Field at April Zorn Memorial Stadium to compete for two Alfano’s gift cards. Teams were asked to give $10 towards WIAR, and the top two teams earned prizes. First place won a $100 Alfano’s gift card, and second place won a $50 Alfano’s gift card. The Boys, a team composed of mostly track team members, took home first place and the $100 gift card. Women’s Soccer took home second place and the $50 gift card.
