After a game earlier in the week got cancelled, the women’s team returned to the home field to lose 0-3 to Benedictine University on Sunday breaking their two game winning streak.
“This was our first game back after a week so it’s hard to get back in the swing of things, the wind also affected the game,” said Senior, #22, Kaylee Doebert.
Benedictine scored in the first fifteen minutes of the game followed with another goal thirteen minutes later prior to halftime. “We wanted to be the first one to score quickly so getting down first was hard,” said Doebert.
The Scots kept up on Benedictine throughout the game, Lea Selquist had three saves in the first half and five in the second half. During the second half the Scots had 10 shots on goal but the only one that made it into the net goal was called back due to offsides. Benedictine ended up scoring once more towards the end of the game resulting in the final score of 0-3.
The rest of the season for the Scots are now only conference games. They play their next home game at 1:30PM on Saturday, October 8th against Ripon College.
