“Career fairs allow students the opportunity to interact with employers, learn more about the careers at those organizations, and present themselves as potential candidates for internship and job opportunities,” said Marnie Steach, Executive Director of Career Readiness, Advising and Student Success.
The Wackerle Center for Career, Leadership, and Fellowships invited 17 employers from 11 different industries to Monmouth College’s seventh annual career expo. “Many times, the employers we bring to campus are Monmouth College alums who are able to share how their student experience at Monmouth helped shape them and their career path,” said Steach. The industries present ranged from agriculture to accounting to manufacturing.

Company representatives discussed the internships they’re hosting this summer and their onboarding process for career opportunities. Steach said, “The representatives get an opportunity to connect with students and promote their organization to potential new interns and employees. They are able to use career fairs to help build their applicant pools.”
Students searching for summer internships or a job after graduation brought their resumes to hand out to potential employers. “It is a great opportunity for students to build their network and practice introducing themselves in a professional way,” said Steach. Representatives answered students’ questions and offered insights into their industry and job searching in general.
