Order of Omega Receives New Initiates

Last Thursday, the Order of Omega, an honor society for Fraternity & Sorority life members, initiated seven new members. 

            New members include, Loren Berberich ‘24, Maddie Boley ‘25, AJ Furness ‘24, Izzy Gimm ‘25, Ana Iatauro ‘24, William Plumley ‘25, and Shannon Smith ’25.

            “I joined Order of Omega to increase my campus involvement. I know a few people already in Order of Omega; in my eyes, they are some of the Greek community's best leaders. I wanted to join the same organization that many people I look up to are involved in,” said Gimm.

            Gimm’s experience was an exciting and joyous moment for her. “My big in Kappa, Lydia Perez, is the Vice President of Order of Omega. I was proud to be joining something that she is dedicated to as well. Being a part of this organization will help me build relationships in our Greek community.”

            “Order of Omega has truly helped me grow as a leader and a member of our Greek Life community. I've had the opportunity to talk with and work with members from chapters other than my own that I normally wouldn't have,” said Order of Omega President Tori Cook ’24.

            As president, Cook’s biggest role is to run the Order’s meetings and act as host of Fraternity and Sorority Life Annual Awards in the spring and the Hall of Fame Induction in the fall. “This year I’m trying to give Order of Omega more of a presence in Greek Life and also the campus as a whole. I’ve been working with the Panhel and IFC presidents to host an all-Greek life cookout as well as some educational programs for anyone in Greek life to attend,” said Cook.

            According to Cook, being part of Order of Omega is more than just planning events and hosting meetings. “It's also taught me a lot about leading meetings and planning larger-scale events than just the ones I've planned in Alpha Xi. I think a large part of that is thanks to Dean O, who has given me a lot of guidance and advice regarding Order of Omega and Greek Life,” said Cook.

            Organizations like Order of Omega bring positivity and a drive forward for members of Greek life at Monmouth College. “I hope to grow my relationships with members of other fraternities and sororities and to increase my networking opportunities both personally and for my chapter,” said Gimm.
