Midday Tuesday, Ryan Pace and the Chicago Bears announced that they offered and successfully agreed to a 1 year $10 million contract with former Cincinnati Bengal and Dallas Cowboy Andy Dalton. As the common crazy Bear fanatic, this news struck me with not only great sadness but anger as well. As any Bear fan would say, I was confident that the bears would strike a legendary deal for Seattle great, Russell Wilson. Although this wasn’t the case, the news of getting Andy Dalton may actually be better news than expected. Let’s face it, with Ryan Pace at the head of Bears front office decisions, the Bears will never be a championship team. Rather than trading our entire future for a 32 year old quarterback along with fracturing a great defense, the Andy Dalton deal gives the Bears organization the opportunity to get rid of Pace and still have the necessary draft prospects to propel the Bears into a competitive NFL team that city and fans of Chicago football deserve.
