The Monmouth Scots Men’s baseball season starts in the upcoming weeks. “I don’t really think we have many weaknesses this year. Like every year, the challenge will be to keep everyone upbeat when we face the up and downs of the season.” said Head Coach Alan Betourne. Last year, the team finished the season with 14 wins and 25 losses. Their conference record for the 2022 season was 8-14.
“I believe we will have a much better year than we did last year. We have better leadership amongst our team and guys are pushing each other every day. Should compete for the conference.” said Betourne.
On the roster this season there are 15 freshman, 13 sophomores, 7 juniors, and 10 seniors. “I always look forward to see how our guys grow on and off the field. We have a lot of guys that should take the next step,” said Betourne.
The team will travel to Florida over spring break to play in the Florida Coast Spring Training, their first game in the tournament will be on March 4th against Martitime College at 1 p.m.
