On Saturday November 5, the MCWC had its first open mic night where students could share their writing or listen to their peers.
“I think it’s important to share personal writing so that we can connect to people on another emotional level […] In this day and age, you sometimes can’t share much about what you think” said Hoth Schremser, a freshman who participated in the open mic.
The MCWC will host an open mic night every other Saturday at 7pm in addition to its writing workshop on Wednesday at 8pm. “We wanted to make sure students had a space to share written art” said Edrass Chavez, President of the organization.
