Last week, several faculty and students took a Mental Health First Aid certification training course. The training taught participants how to help someone in mental health crisis such as overdose, psychosis, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more. They learned tools to not only help the individual personally but also how to connect them to professional resources.
“Mental health is a big deal to me and something that I view as extremely important,” said senior and training participant Jaxon Coleman. “I wanted to make sure that I would have the right training to be able to help anyone that is struggling with a mental illness”.
