The Scots, holding a 2-2-2 record in the Midwest Conference, faced Knox on a Tuesday afternoon in their final home game of the season.
The first half was a hard-fought contest, with both teams exchanging opportunities to break the deadlock. The pivotal moment of the half came when Knox got a free kick. Monmouth's goalkeeper, Chris Zavala, made a remarkable save. However, the Prairie Fire got a second chance after the referee stated he had not blown his whistle. They capitalized on the opportunity, heading into halftime with a 0-1 lead.
The Scots displayed their resilience in the second half, quickly finding the equalizer. Following a well-executed corner kick, Ramon Aguilari made the final touch, except seconds later, Knox wasted no time responding, reclaiming the lead. Monmouth fought hard in the last 30 minutes, getting agonizingly close to leveling the score. Despite their efforts, the equalizer remained elusive and the Scots lost the final home game 2-1.
