Men's Lacrosse vs. Northwestern University

The Monmouth College men’s lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the season at home against Northwestern St. Paul 16-4 on Friday night. The Scots overall record is now 3-1 overall, and a conference game behind Northwestern. The Eagles outshot the Scots 21-3 in the first quarter and built a strong 9-2 lead by the half. The Scot’s first goals came from Freshman Mike Casey and Senior Jeff Knapp.

The Scots trailed 13-2 after 3 quarters and put two back-to-back goals to start the fourth quarter. Knapp scored his second of the day and the 69th of his career. Knapp’s second goal of the game tied him for the Scots career goal record. 90 seconds later Jack Koenn scored his first of the game to cut the Eagle’s lead to 13-4. The Eagles closed out the game with 3 more goals to make it a 16-4 game. Teagan Simmons made 20 saves in the goal for Monmouth, settling himself into second most saves in a game in school history. The Scots next game is at Northland College on April 24th at 4pm.
