Monmouth men’s golf fought tough conditions at the Knox College Wetherbee Invite. The mix of rain and wind made second round scores higher than on the opening day of play as the men recorded a 17th place team finish.
Nate Monroe had the strongest opening round performance for the Scots as he posted a 79 on Fri. afternoon. However, round two was not as favorable to Monroe as the day prior as he scored a 95 on his way to a weekend score of 174.
Braden Williams was the most consistent player of the invite for Monmouth as he recorded round scores of 85 and 86. Bucking the trend of higher round two scores was Mason Ely. The senior started the weekend with an 89 in round one. Eli battled through the elements Sat. and improved his performances six strokes to finish the tournament with an 83 in the second round.
