Joseph Doner is a sophomore International Studies and Environmental Studies double major and French minor from Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Joe is the Political Editor for The Courier.
1. What do you do in your position with The Courier?
I help come up with and select political news items to write about in the paper as well as writing articles myself.
2. What’s your favorite part about working for the school paper?
I enjoy the opportunity it gives me to communicate with my fellow students and try to present things that they might find interesting or new.
3. What else are you involved in on campus?
I am also involved in the Stockdale Fellows, Students for Environmental Awareness, Monmouth College Democrats, Rotaract, the Garden Club, COIL, Alpha Lambda Delta, Blue Key, and Mortar Board.
4. Why did you choose to come to Monmouth?
I chose to come to Monmouth because it met practically all of the criteria I had been looking for in a college.
5. What are your current plans after graduation?
My current plans after graduation involve attending law school and becoming a lawyer.
6. What is one thing you wish you could tell every professor on campus?
Keep up the good work of learning, questioning, and challenging so that your students may then learn in their turn.
7. What is one thing you wish you had more time for?
Reading, I hardly have any time to read anything other than what is assigned by my professors.
8. What’s your dream job?
My dream job would be to work as an environmental lawyer for an international organization.
9. What’s the furthest place you’ve ever traveled?
The furthest I’ve ever traveled from my home would be Los Angeles, California.
