Welcoming The Colts Drum and Bugle Corps Back to Campus
The Fighting Scots Marching Band hosted the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps once again as the corps continued their audition process for the 2023 season. The brass audition camp was held this past weekend, Feb. 17-19.
The Colts, out of Dubuque, Iowa, use “music and excellence to teach others about success in life,” according to their mission statement. Monmouth students also gained knowledge by simply watching their rehearsal. Sophomore, Garrett Rossell said his biggest takeaway was that “it takes massive amounts of skill and dedication to have the chance to play with The Colts.” Rossell plays percussion in almost every music ensemble and hopes to one day play for a drum corps.
The brass caption head for The Colts, Chad Miller said, “This past weekend was our best camp by far… We’re very excited about the membership this year and to show off this year’s production. This one should be one to remember.”
