The Monmouth College women’s basketball team hosted their first game of conference season against Lake Forest this past Tuesday, November 29th. The Scots made school history scoring 15 3-pointers and gained a win 95-64.
Senior, Lily Harlan set a career high for herself with 24 points and 11 rebounds. “I think a lot of competitors overlook us because of the loss of some key players last year. We are a very young team but, that doesn’t change the fact that everyone on this team works incredibly hard and really wants to make it to the conference tournament just as much as the other teams,” says Harlan. “Things have really started to click the past few weeks in practice and games so I hope we continue in that direction and keep pushing each other to be the best.”
Not far behind Harlan, fifth year senior, Tarae Warner led alongside her with 20 points and 8 rebounds. She was responsible for 3 of the Scots’15 3-pointers, while Harlan was responsible for 4.
The Scots continue their season December 16th at Webster University and December 17th at home versus Westminster College before their winter break.
