Two of the most popular intramural sports on campus, 3-on-3 basketball and pickleball, are set to return this fall semester.
“Pickleball will be co-ed, and then we will have a men’s and women’s league for 3-on-3 basketball,” said Luke Bradburn, intramural director at Monmouth College.
The return follows high student participation last year. Both sports were among the most attended and highest-grossing intramurals on campus.
“Basketball tends to be the most highly participated,” Bradburn said. “We also get a lot of variety in pickleball, as it’s easy to form teams—you just need two people.”
All equipment, including basketballs and pickleball paddles, will be provided during competition, allowing anyone to participate.
The sand volleyball and kickball seasons have recently wrapped up. In sand volleyball, Ryan’s team defeated Spiked Balls in a best-of-three series to earn the coveted intramural championship T-shirt. In kickball, FC Bel Air beat The Gamblers, also in a best-of-three series.
