"An honor band filled with students of all sorts from Illinois and Iowa," said Justin Swearinger, director of instrumental activities.
Monmouth College welcomed 90 high school students from 13 schools to perform in the college’s annual Honor Band. Students arrived at campus at 10 am to prepare for the 7 pm concert.
Guest clinician, Jessica Amores, from Florida International University (FIU), led the band through five songs. Amores thanked the crowd stating, "It was such a delight working with your students today and it made my trip from Miami worth it." He is the academic advisor for the School of Music and Department of Theatre at FIU.
In a packed Huff Athletic Center Field House, students, joined by Monmouth’s Marching Band for an encore, performed for family and friends in attendance.
