Wedged right between the M-Club Hall of Fame Induction and Homecoming Parade on the first of October, Business and Economics Professor Tom Prince spoke about business management as a part of The Great Lecture
“Management is a very passionate topic to me. I believe strongly in it. I think it is an important science for us to examine and to be aware of,” Prince said at the beginning of his lecture.
The Great Lecture series is a string of quick lessons before home football games, where different people professors or staff members give lectures on various topics of expertise. Its purpose, according to political science professor Andre Audette, is to combine sports with education, which is why each Great Lecture goes on a few hours before home football games.
“It’s a great chance to come and learn about some different fields, things that maybe you didn’t get to take in college or you’re still kinda exploring, and you don’t have to do any homework, which is the best part,” said Audette when introducing the Great Lecture series last Saturday.
Previously, the series has hosted Michael Solontoi from the Physics & Engineering Department and Regina Johnson from the Champion Miller Center. There are 2 lectures left, one October 15 at 11 a.m. with Sean Schumm from kinesiology and the last on November 5th with Michelle Holschuh Simmons from educational studies in CSB 278 and are open to the public.
