The semester is winding down and that means one thing — finals.
Before we know it, we will all be back from Thanksgiving with only three days of classes left before finals, not to be a joy killer or anything. Reading Day is on Thursday, December 5; finals start on Friday, December 6, and run through Wednesday, December 11.
To have the best success on your finals, there are a number of things you can do.
While studying, find a place that you can focus your best. For some, this could mean going to the library all day during Reading Day and using a study room on the lower level. For others, this could mean staying in your room and studying. You could find a classroom or a breakout room in the CSB to study by yourself, or with friends.
Before finals begin, go to your professors if you have any questions or concerns. Studying with friends for the same class you may have together is important, too, so that you can collaborate ideas and thoughts. Take advantage of Reading Day to study and get everything you need to taken care of. Don’t forget to take a study break or two during your long note reviewing sessions—they are just as important. One good way is going to the caf for Finals Breakfast on Reading Day; keep an eye out on our Twitter for more infomation about it.
Always eat healthy! Eating a good meal before you take your test is important. Getting an omelet from Penny or any of your other favorite breakfast foods is good brain fuel and will help you get through tests and studying. Don’t skip meals to study, and make sure you have (healthy) snacks while you do study. Also, make sure you get a healthy amount of sleep! Sleeping is just as important as studying and if you stay up all night trying to study instead of sleeping, it may not be as effective if you would have just gotten a good night’s sleep.
Good luck on finals!
