On Saturday, September 13th, the annual “Family Weekend Concert” took place in Dahl Chapel Auditorium. There were performances from the Chorale, Wind Ensemble, and Chamber Choir. The concert was a special way for families to get to see what their student had been working on since being dropped off at college. The Wind Ensemble performed three pieces. The first being “The Monmouth College Hymn”, followed by “Stillwater”, and to end the night, a piece named “Polly Oliver”. The Chamber Choir performed one song named “Sicut Cervus”, a piece composed in 1594. The Chorale performed 3 pieces. They started off with “Bright Morning Stars”, then performed “John Saw de Numbuh”, and then concluded the concert with “A Flame of White and Crimson”. Abby Zayas, a junior, said, “I love getting to perform music so early on! Since our first concert isn’t until October, it’s really great to get to share stuff right away, especially when there are so many families here for the weekend.”
