Brayden Deem, senior quarterback from Andalusia, Illinois has become one of the most dynamic players in the Midwest Conference. Majoring in chemistry and earning a spot on the Dean’s List in spring 2025, he represents the definition of a student-athlete who balances academics and athletics at a high level.
His dual-threat style makes him difficult to defend, as he’s capable of breaking plays open both through the air and on the ground. One of his standout performances came in October 2025, when he was named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week after leading Monmouth to nearly 500 total yards and 49 points. In that game, he completed 26 of 34 passes for 278 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding 45 rushing yards without being sacked. A week later, he set a Monmouth school record with 453 passing yards in a dominant win over Illinois College.

“It’s all about having trust in my teammates, trusting that everybody’s gonna do their job,” said Deem. “We still have a lot of work left to do. We worked our butts off to earn a spot in the playoffs, but we know we are capable of so much more.”
Delivering 5 touchdowns in the first half, all to different guys. His chemistry with receivers, especially Chase Newman, has been a cornerstone of Monmouth’s offensive success.
“Brayden has the ability to extend plays with his legs, and he is determined to get every yard,” Junior Quarterback Silas Braun said. “He’s a battery for our team. His energy is infectious. It’s been really nice to get this perspective and motivation to continue the success next year.”
