The Monmouth College Cross Country teams had several personal best times recorded at the Bradley “Pink” Classic last weekend.
The Monmouth men had their top eight runners all run a PR last week. Leading the way was junior Griff Morrill, who raced to a blazing 25:58 for the 8K course, placing tenth in a field of mostly Division One competition. Next for the men were Riley Dulin and Tanner Heiple, running 27:24 and 27:29 respectively. The top seven were rounded out by newcomers Gavin Conway and Carlos Miranda, along with senior Mike Bersell.
The Monmouth women also had several strong performances. First to finish for the Scots was sophomore Mik Moore, who raced to a huge PR of 23:59 for the 6K course. Ezzie Baltierra-Chavez ran a 24:17 to come in second on the women’s side. Upperclassmen Julia Sterr and Caitlyn Allen were third and fourth, with both just under 25 minutes. The top seven were rounded out by Arika Hofmann, Kara Fisher, and Kirsten Menke.
Next for the cross country teams is the Midwest Conference Championship hosted by Knox College at Oak Run Public Golf Course. Both teams have a great shot at producing several all-conference performances and impressive team scores. Last year, the women finished second, while the men placed fourth.
