Monmouth College held its annual Honors Convocation on Tuesday among the many events that happen on campus during Scholars Day. The Courier is proud to honor 2 of our current staff members, including our editor and chief. First is Ally Clay ‘23, a Public Relations major who holds our photos and graphics manager position, as well as the website and social media content director position. Clay received the Lee McGaan Prize for being the outstanding senior in the Public Relations department. Clay was also recognized as an initiate of Blue Key honors society, and Lambda Pi Eta, the national communication honors society.
Finally, Lena Wickens ‘23, our editor and chief, who is a double major in Public Relations and Communication Studies, received the Lois Bailey McGaan Prize alongside Gabrielle Crothers ‘23 for excellence in the field of communication studies. Both of these individuals have contributed a lot to their respective areas of study. ““My last four years in the comm department have been a major highlight in my time at Monmouth. Not only has the department allowed me to grow intellectually and personally, the faculty provided a space where precious memories were made and life long friendships were created”, says Wickens. We wish to congratulate them on their achievements on Scholars Day.
