November 1, 3:00 PM Wallace Hall 102
Enjoy cider and snacks as the Classics Department celebrates Halloween. This month’s gathering will include cider and Halloween treats. Discussion will be on curse tablets, Pomona (a Roman-adopted Celtic goddess associated with rituals around this time of year), and the festival of Lemuria, which was a time to purify households of evil spirits after whom the festival is named.
This is an event open to all and you’re encouraged to bring friends! A costume is not required to attend, but feel free to dress up if you are in the Halloween mood!
