On Saturday, October 28th, along with the other members of Pi Beta Phi I took a trip to Davenport, Iowa for a sisterhood at Build-A-Bear. Each of us had the opportunity to make their own stuffed animal with accessories. This meant a lot to some of the members as it either brought back childhood memories, or fulfilled some who weren’t able to partake when they were kids.
For me this was very exciting. I used to collect Build-A-Bears when I was a kid, and lost them all in Hurricane Katrina, so it was really cool to experience a childhood memory I lost so many years ago. I remember being so sad as a kid because I would be gifted a Build-A-Bear for every special event, such as birthdays, to commemorate with a memory. This was definitely one of my favorite things I’ve done with the chapter.
