The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are Super Bowl LV champions after defeating the Kansas City Chief’s 31-9. The Bucs won their second Super Bowl in franchise history and was the very first NFL team to play the Super Bowl in their home stadium, Raymond James Stadium. Quarterback Tom Brady, 43, secured his seventh Super Bowl and fifth Super Bowl MVP, breaking his own NFL record.
Brady completed 21 out of 29 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns, two of which were to Rob Gronkowski. The tandem now have 14 postseason scoring connections in their legendary careers. The future Hall of Famer has a strong offense and an even stronger defense to thank for the win.
The Bucs forced Patrick Mahomes and the Chief’s offense to have their worst performance of the Mahomes era. Tampa Bay’s defensive front completely controlled the line of scrimmage through all four quarters. Mahomes never seemed comfortable in the pocket. He was constantly caught between tucking and scurrying and firing the ball into the ground. Mahomes was sacked three times and threw for two interceptions from tipped balls ending the night with 270 yards and not completing a single pass for a touchdown, the second occurrence in 56 games since being drafted by Kansas City in 2018.
After their week 12 loss to Kansas City, Tampa Bay held WR Tyreek Hill to seven grabs and 73 yards for the night. Kelce was Mahomes biggest help, but nobody could assist him with Tampa Bay removing the Chief’s wideouts from the game.
Ten penalties hurt the Chief’s accounting for 100 yards. On the other hand, Tampa Bay utilized Kansas City’s penalties and their running backs soared to 150 yards on 28 carries.
Some hate him, others call him the G.O.A.T of the NFL, but is Tom Brady the best quarterback in history?
