Freshman Natalie Labicki had never played lacrosse before this season, “you never know what’s awaiting you when you leave your comfort zone.”
“I didn’t think I would ever play collegiate lacrosse. I was doubtful of my skill and knowledge at the beginning,” Labicki said. However, she was up for the challenge when it came to picking up a lacrosse stick for the first time. “The most difficult part was knowing that it takes time to get a good standing and that perfection takes progress.”
Through lacrosse, Labicki has learned that “change is easy with the right people around.” Labicki also mentioned how supportive her teammates have been towards her and other newcomers. “When I scored my first goal, my team surrounded me and congratulated me with hugs,” she said.
“My advice to others is to try anything no matter what. You never know if you will like it until you try, so give it a shot.”
