The Artist-Teachers/Teacher-Artists exhibit showcases work by artists in the local and regional community. Included in the show are PK-12 art teachers, museum educators, retired art teachers, and folks who teach art in higher ed.
The art ranges from a comic book about the trials and triumphs as a teacher in the series ‘Teaching Comics’ to dapper cats, hidden feelings, IVF journeys, and everything in between. A reference to Maya Angelou’s I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings appears, a painting like the well-known Where’s Waldo series, and antique handkerchiefs portraying love through embroidery.
The reception for this show will be on Saturday, March 25, from 2:00-3:30 in the Len G. Everett Gallery in Hewes Library where many of these artists will speak about their work.
