Alpha Xi Delta’s annual male beauty pageant took place on March 16, 2019. This competition is used to help raise money for Alpha Xi Delta’s national philanthropy, Autism Speaks. This year, nine Monmouth College men competed to win the honored title of Xi Man. They competed in multiple different areas, such as, talent, sportswear, formal questions and more. Each male was judged by three of Monmouth’s finest, Wendy Bolon, Penny the omelette lady, and Jake McLean.
After showing off their musical talents, cracking their best jokes, and even showcasing some animal wrangling, the winner was decided. Although each male that competed put their best foot forward, only one could be named this year’s Xi Man. Junior, Lucas Sondgeroth, who represented the Stockdale Fellows, was crowned Xi Man 2019, however each contestant was rewarded. Without the amazing work of the women of Alpha Xi Delta, Xi Man would not be possible.
The women of Alpha Xi thanked all of those who participated and those who donated as well. This year Alpha Xi Delta raised a total of $5,789.01 for Autism Speaks. Those in the audience laughed along with the participants and Alpha Xi coaches were noticably prideful of each of their competitors whether they came out victorious or simply performed their heart out. The women of Alpha Xi are already looking forward to what Xi Man 2020 has in store.
