“Do you want a potato?” a homeowner offered to the kids at the Community Downtown Trick or Treat event, this past Friday.
Homes and businesses were decorated from top to bottom. While many homes gave out candy, one home offered potatoes to trick-or-treaters as a candy alternative. Thankfully, the homeowners had a large supply, because most of the kids preferred the potatoes. When a group of trick-or-treaters were asked if their picture could be taken for the Courier with their potatoes, one said: “Dude, we’re gonna be famous.” Students from Monmouth College also handed out candy on Broadway.
