What made you want to apply for president of your sorority?
“During my time in Kappa, I have felt tremendous growth in my leadership skills and being given a VP position my freshman year, I felt the support from my sisters in ways I have never felt before. I had been going back and forth if I wanted to apply for president this term or the next, but ultimately the support from all of my sisters and best friends made me realize that I wanted to this term. I wanted to become president to not only grow my leadership skills to another level but be that leader that the younger members can look up to.”
What are you looking forward to this year?
“I am looking forward to leading the exec board this year. I have already seen so much growth in the exec board's leadership skills. I am looking forward to collaborating with other sororities and fraternity chapters as well.”
What are some goals you have for yourself, your team, and your sorority?
“The goals I have for myself are to focus on my academics and set aside time to separate my social life from my Kappa position. A goal I have for the exec board is to create clear communication between the whole board. For the sorority goals, I want to continue to keep a positive chapter culture as well as grow our sisterhood even more.”
What are some plans you have to collaborate with other groups on campus or to be more present on campus?
“As of right now, we are having a programming night for our chapter led by our VP Member Development, Lauren Millhiser, about women empowerment with a speaker from Professor Jen Braun. This will allow us to hear from a professor on campus as well as an amazing person for this topic. Since our philanthropy is mental health based, I want to collaborate with the mental health services on campus, whether that be for a program for our chapter or an event. As many of our sisters tutor at the Jamieson Community Center, we proposed an idea to fill the little free libraries around Monmouth. This will allow us to give back to the community of Monmouth as they have provided us with so much.”

What made you want to apply for president of your sorority?
“I have always been an active member of my chapter, and I knew from the beginning that I wanted to be as involved as possible. The positions I've served over these past few years have allowed me to understand my chapter on a deeper level. I was highly motivated to give my sisters the opportunities and experiences they deserve, and I knew I could do so much more while being the President. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and have no plans to let my sisters down.”
What are you looking forward to this year?
“I am looking forward to planning and scheduling events for our chapter, especially so the seniors can have an awesome last semester here. They've served our chapter for so long and I am excited to give back to them in this way.”
What are some goals you have for yourself, your team, and your sorority?
“During our first executive board meeting, we came up with a list of goals we wanted to set for ourselves and the entire team as a whole. These goals include: accountability, ensuring we all complete our tasks, and acknowledging that there is always room for improvement; communication, making sure that our individual teams are all on the same page, and that the entire chapter receives the relevant information. And collaboration, recognizing that we have each other for a reason—to rely on each other when things become difficult.”
What are some plans you have to collaborate with other groups on campus or to be more present on campus?
“We love to support other organizations on campus by attending as many events as we can. Something we implemented last year and are trying to bring back is sister groups, where we put members into groups of people they may not spend as much time with and encourage them to attend campus events with these groups. We also encourage each other to support each other's accomplishments, whether that be a science seminar presentation, an orchestra concert, or a swim meet, just to name a few. The floor at chapter is always open for people to extend invitations to on-campus events so that we can support the community in any way we can.
I cannot wait to see what this year brings for the FSL community. I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds for each chapter”
