The Monmouth College men’s soccer team ended their season on Saturday, falling 5-0 to the #13-ranked MWC champion, Lake Forest College.
The Scots kept the Foresters close in the first half, as it took the Foresters until the 41st minute to mount a 2-0 lead going into halftime, but goals in the 61st, 69th, and 78th minutes propelled Lake Forest to a 5-0 victory. The Foresters outshot the Scots 20-9 and 10-1 on goal and won the corner kicks battle 11-2.
Monmouth finishes the season with a record of 3-9-3 and 0-7-1 in conference play, finishing 8th place above Lawrence University. The Scots also bid farewell to their lone senior, midfielder Parker Davis.
The Midwest Conference men’s soccer tournament will be held next week, with semifinals on Friday, Nov. 7, and the final on Saturday, Nov. 8, hosted by Lake Forest College at Farwell Field.
