Last week Scots Student Senate gave students the opportunity to show their gratitude.
The annual gratitude grams are open to all students who wanted to send a thank you card to a faculty or staff member. There was no cost associated with sending out a gram, it was just a way for students to show their gratitude.
President of Scots Student Senate Jake Rathgeb said that the grams are “not new this year, it was new last year under our president Gabriela Madu. Who actually came up with the idea that we wanted to be thankful around thanksgiving time. We thought the best way to do that and have all the students participate is to pay for all the thank you cards and allow students to show their thankfulness through us.”
“I sent my gratitude gram to my advisor and my professor Tom Prince., said junior Grace Goodrich. “He has helped me a lot through this semester and with learning more about myself. He has helped me find out more about my major and what I want to do after college. He is very insightful and caring towards his students.”
Rathgeb said it’s important to give out gratitude whenever you can. “Not everything is rainbows and butterflies in life. I think everyone can always appreciate a thank you. There are a lot of people who are not really aware of how many people are grateful for them, and this is a great way to show that.”
