On Saturday, women’s tennis recognized five seniors before the second match of the day: Emily Laughlin (Milan, Illinois), Isabel Hammond (Germantown Hills, Illinois), Emily Henson (Geneseo, Illinois), Ditza Montesinos (Villa Park, Illinois) and Isabella Perez (Chicago, Illinois).
In the morning match against Ripon, Senior Emily Laughlin and Freshman Natalie Labicki beat Allison Larsen and Hadley Berendsen 8-3.
In the second match, the Scots fell to Lawrence University in a 0-9 loss. The Scots picked up just 4 games in the doubles matches, losing 8-4 at #1 doubles, and 8-0 at #2 and #3.
Senior Ditza Montesinos said, “we played our best as a team, supporting each other through each match against Vikings, helping us grow into a better team and raise the team morale overall.”
The Scots continue their Midwest Conference play facing Illinois College at home on Friday, September 30th at 4pm.
