Jamieson Community Center Changes

During the pandemic, many people in the Monmouth community lost their jobs and many students had to do their schoolwork online. The center’s senior nutrition program has tripled in demand, the food pantry is being used more by the community, and the tutoring center has gained more kids in need of extra help.  These demands for Jamieson Community Center have influenced many changes and various improvements

Inside the building changes include, the thrift store and food pantry merging into one location called the Community Marketplace. All of the children that receive extra assistance will now meet inside the Jamieson Center at Pattee Learning Center rather than split between two different locations.

With the increase of demand throughout the community, the center is in need of new volunteers. Volunteer positions include working in the kitchen to assist with senior nutrition, helping to prepare meals and working in the thrift store. They also have various paid positions in the Learning Center to help tutor and guide the children there. For updated hours and news like their Facebook page at the “Jamieson Community Center”.
