This weekend, beginning Friday, September 24th, students will welcome families to campus and welcome them to their “home away from home”. From noon to 8pm on Friday, meal tickets may be picked up in the Stockdale Student Center along with the weekend’s schedule of events. From 4:30 to 6:30, dinner will be served in the main dining room in Stockdale. One way to get out and enjoy the community is to head over to the Monmouth Farmers Market in the parking lot next to Dairy Queen from 5:30 to 8:30, in the 300th block of N Main Street. Representing the college will be the Monmouth College Educational Farm with fresh produce. At 7pm on Friday night, Wells Theater is hosting Evan Struck, speed painter. To wrap up the evening, head over to Dahl Chapel and Auditorium to the Family Weekend Concert featuring the Monmouth Wind Ensemble, Concert Band and Chorale.
Wake up on Saturday, bright and early for the student health center ribbon cutting and open house at 9am, when the student health center will officially be dedicated. The health center is located adjacent to the bookstore on the first floor of McMichael Residence Hall. The health center, available to all students is staffed with OSF Healthcare medical personnel. The ribbon cutting is to be held on Dunlap Terrace in front of Stockdale Center. From 10-11:30am, the Office of Development and College Relations will be hosting the 19th Annual Legacy Brunch, which is held in Mellinger Commons, on the lower level of the Center for Science and Business (CSB). On the Quad from 11am-2pm, you will be able to find inflatables, games, face painting, kettle corn and other activities for the whole family to enjoy. An all-campus cookout located on the Quad behind Stockdale is being held from 11:30am-1pm. At 1:30pm, the men’s soccer team will play Cornell College at Peacock Memorial Park. A shuttle will be picking up and dropping off at the Huff Athletic Center north drive. Dinner will be held in the cafeteria from 4:30 to 6:30pm, at 6:00pm, a pre-performance dessert will be held in front of Dahl Chapel and Auditorium and at 7pm an improv show will be held, “Mission IMPROVable” inside of Dahl Chapel and Auditorium. You can wrap up the weekend with brunch in the cafeteria on Sunday from 9:30am-1pm. Take advantage of family weekend to show your family around the beautiful campus you like to call home.
